Description

Fourth of July Cookie Bars are a festive treat that brings joy to any summer gathering.   • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup red, white, and blue sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and a pinch of salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the butter with both sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually combine dry ingredients into wet mixture until just mixed. Fold in chocolate chips and half of the sprinkles.
  5. Spread batter evenly in the prepared dish and top with remaining sprinkles. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown around the edges but soft in the center.
  6. Let cool slightly before cutting into squares.
