  • 1 quart high-quality vanilla ice cream, softened
  • 8 oz shortcake or pound cake, sliced
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Prepare strawberries by washing and slicing them. Toss with 1 cup sugar and let sit for 15 minutes to macerate.
  2. Slice shortcake or pound cake into even layers.
  3. In a dish, layer the sliced cake, then spread a layer of softened vanilla ice cream over it.
  4. Add half of the macerated strawberries on top of the ice cream.
  5. Repeat the layering process until ingredients are used up, finishing with a layer of ice cream. Freeze for at least 4 hours until solid.
