Description

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 0.75 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Toss the sliced strawberries with 1 tbsp of sugar in a bowl and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt; whisk together.
  4. Cut in the cold butter until crumbly. Stir in heavy cream and vanilla until just combined.
  5. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Once cooled, layer the strawberries on top and add whipped cream if desired. Slice into bars.
