  • 2 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
  • 1 cup grated Cheddar cheese
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter (for greasing)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and butter a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, and pepper; simmer for two minutes without boiling.
  3. Layer half the potato slices in the baking dish, pour half the cream mixture over them, and sprinkle half the cheeses on top. Repeat with remaining potatoes, cream, and cheese.
  4. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 60 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 20-25 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  5. Let it sit for five minutes before serving.
