  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 12 tsp orange food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda; set aside.
  3. In another bowl, beat softened butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until fluffy (about 2 minutes).
  4. Add eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla extract. Stir in optional orange food coloring if desired.
  5. Gradually combine dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just mixed.
  6. Fold in milk chocolate chips evenly.
  7. Drop tablespoons of dough onto prepared sheets about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain soft; cool slightly before serving.
