  • 12 ounces bow tie pasta (farfalle)
  • 14 ounces Italian sausage (spicy or sweet)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil salted water in a large pot. Add bow tie pasta and cook until al dente according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté for about 5 minutes until translucent.
  3. Add sliced Italian sausage to the skillet and cook for about 8 minutes until browned.
  4. Stir in chopped red bell pepper and cook for another 3 minutes until softened.

  6. Add cooked bow tie pasta to the skillet, tossing everything together until well coated in sauce.
